The Agency is an administration that assists the Chairman in the implementation of his/her authorities and technically ensures his/her activities. In the exercise of the powers thereof, two Deputy-Chairmen shall assist the Chairman. The two deputies shall be designated by a decision of the Council of Ministers on a motion by the NRA Chairman and shall be appointed by the Prime Minister.

The Chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Agency from 20 October 2004 is Dr. Sergey Tzotchev. The Deputy Chairmen are Assoc. Prof. Dr. Latchesar Kostov and Dipl. Eng. Borislav Stanimirov.
