Rules of Procedure of the Nuclear Regulatory Agency (90KB) ![]()
The Rules of Procedure determine the structure, activity, organization of work, functions and number of personnel of the Agency and its administrative units. The NRA is a legal entity on state budget with headquarters in Sofia.
On the basis of an analyses carried out on the competencies and future challenges before the regulatory authority, the NRA has prepared and is applying a strategy for a step by step increase of the personnel and the enhancement of their qualification. In compliance with the implementation of the plan for strengthening the output capacity, the NRA personnel was steadily increased, and with the last amendments of the Rules of Procedure dated 3 August 2007, to total number of employees now amounts to 114 persons.
The enormous responsibilities that the NRA employees hold before the society, subsequently substantiate the higher requirements posed towards their qualification and experience, which are exactly and clearly delineated for holding the each separate job position. Almost all employees in the Agency have higher education, with Master level and long term professional experience in the field of regulation, designing, construction and operation of nuclear facilities and sites with SIR. The management of the NRA provides constant enhancement and maintaining of the professional qualification and competency of the employees. The NRA applies in the course of implementation of its regulatory functions a uniform, consistent and approved by the Quality Management System, approach.
