First mission on evaluation of the national emergency notification system

From 19th to 23rd April 2010 in the Emergency Center of NRA headquarters was held the first mission to evaluate the notification system in case of an accident. The mission was conducted under the regional program between the Republic of Bulgaria and Norway and Romania on Excellence in Safe Nuclear Energy.
The international experts that participated in the mission were aquainted in detail with the organization in the country for notification in case of nuclear or radiological emergency at different levels:
- by the operator or random citizens (in case of on event in any preliminary unknown place) to the NRA and the competent state authorities;
- between the competent authorities;
- by the NRA to international organizations (IAEA, EU) and other countries.
The purpose of the mission is to make an independent analysis of the national system of notification and if necessary, to assist in its improvement in the framework of the project.
