Visit by Ms. Alessia Rodriguez y Baeña, country officer for Bulgaria in the Department of Technical Co-operation of the IAEA

From 21st to 24th April 2010 Ms Alessia Rodriguez y Baeña, country officer for Bulgaria in the Division of Europe in the Department of Technical Co-operation of the IAEA visited BNRA.
She had a meeting with Dr. Sergey Tzotchev, chairman of the NRA, during which they discussed issues related to the implementation of the IAEA Technical Co-operation Programme for the 2009 – 2011 cycle. Ms. Rodriguez y Baeña expressed her gratitude to the Bulgarian organizations for their effective implementation of national projects. She emphasized the NRA role as official IAEA partner in the realization of the co-operation between the IAEA and the Republic of Bulgaria. The future perspective proposals for technical co-operation for the next IAEA program cycle for 2012 – 2013 were also discussed.
Ms Rodriguez y Baeña met also with the representatives of the Kozlodyu NPP, Belene NPP State Enterprise, Radioactive Waste State Enterprise, National Centre of Radiobiology and Radiation Protection, Executive Environment Agency, Military Hospital, Institute of Genetics, Maritsa Vegetable Crops Research Institute and Technical University – Varna.
In the agenda were included visits to the Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy, University hospital Queen Giovanna, Alexandrovska Hospital, University of Forestry. During the meetings aspects of the current projects to which the institutions are beneficiaries as well as proposals for future initiatives were also discussed.
