Meeting for drafting the scenario of the Bulgarian-Romanian emergency exercise under the program between Bulgaria and Norway on excellence in Safe Nuclear Energy

In the period 12 – 16 July 2010 in the IAEA headquarters was held the meeting of the joint emergency planning and response exercise Planning Group. The purpose of the meeting was to start the process of development the exercise scenario and manual. The exercise is planned in the framework of the project “BNRA 2 – Emergency preparedness and response” under the program between the Republic of Bulgaria, Norway and Romania on excellence in Safe Nuclear Energy.
The exercise is planned to be held in April 2011. Representatives from the competent state authorities from both countries will participate in the exercise.
The goal of the exercise is to test the interaction and procedures for action applied in Bulgaria and in Romania in cases of transportation of spent fuel. During the preparation of the exercise each country will define specific national goals.
