BNRA and the Radiation Safety Directorate of the Republic of Macedonia concluded an agreement for cooperation

On 17th November 2010 the BNRA and the Radiation Safety Directorate of the Republic of Macedonia concluded an agreement for cooperation. The agreement was signed by Dr. Nuzi Shahin, director of the Radiation Safety Directorate and by Dr. Sergey Tzotchev, chairman of the BNRA.
The agreement provisions include technical information exchange for ensuring radiation protection and maintaining emergency preparedness during the utilization of ionizing radiation sources and radioactive waste management generated from their operation.
The document provides exchange of experience in the field of licensing practices with ionizing radiation sources and carrying out inspection on facilities and practices with ionizing radiation sources.
The agreement considers issues related to the prevention of illicit trafficking of nuclear and radioactive materials as well as response in case of emergency.
