Country Program Framework for cooperation with IAEA for the period 2012 – 2017 is signed

Country Program Framework (CPF) for cooperation between Bulgaria and IAEA for the period 2012-2017 was signed on 18th November 2011 in the IAEA Headquarter in Vienna. This document replaces the existing CPF singed in 2003, which has exhausted its potential, and this fact implies a new review of the country priorities in national and regional concepts in the area of peaceful use of atomic energy.
In the new CPF the priority for cooperation with IAEA is given to sustainable energy development, human health, rural development and environment and governmental, legal and regulatory framework for safety.
CPF was signed by Dr. Sergey Tzotchev, Chairman of the NRA and Mr. Kwaku Aning, Deputy Director General of IAEA and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation.
