Event Title: Loss of signal for the position of a control rod of Unit 5

Event description:

On 10.01.2010 Kozloduy NPP Unit 5 is working on nominal power.

The position signal for one of the control rods is lost while moving it in individual mode. In accordance with the requirements of the Technical Specifications of the unit, its power is reduced to 90%. After restoration of the signal of the control rod and performing successful tests the power of the Unit is restored to 100%.

Commission is appointed to analyse the event.

In the international event rating scale (INES) the event is classified as a "deviation" from normal operation.

*The final assessment by the NRA on the level of the event according to INES is announced following the receipt of the final report on the results from the investigation and the analysis of the event, according to art.12 of the Regulation for notification.
