Event Title:

Loss of position control for one power control rod

Event description:

At 22:52 on 13.02.2010 one of the power control rods of the reactor loses information about its position. There were no consequences for the power of the unit or other controlled by the operator parameters observed. Based on a program a checking is initiated to clarify the cause for the loss of information. It was discovered that the control rod can be moved, but can not restore the position indication. According to the Technical Specifications requirements of Unit 5 this control rod is drawn to down end position and powered off. The power of the unit has been reduced to 90%.

Commission for investigation of the causes and elimination of the failure is appointed.
