Event Title: 12-th diesel generator (DG-12) taken out of service

Event description:

Kozloduy NPP Unit 1 is in operational mode “E” without nuclear fuel in the reactor and in the spent fuel pool. According to the technical Specifications of the Unit, diesel generator 12 (DG-12) is in standby mode and the other two diesel generators are out of service.

After a scheduled testing of the automatic staggered start-up was performed fails the electric voltage regulator of DG-12 fails. The voltage increases up to 8kV and the diesel generator is stopped by the staff. In stand-by mode is put DG-11.

There were no violations of the operational limits and conditions.

A commission for investigation of the causes and elimination of the failure has been appointed.
